Last week Radha held a clothing swap party that doubled as a fundraiser for WISH, a Downtown Eastside women’s drop-in centre. It was a big hit – with tables piled high of good quality clothing and a crowd of eager swappers.
People who didn’t bring clothes but that wanted to take some could leave money instead, as a donation for WISH. All the leftover clothing was donated to the organization as well. A great time was had by all.

Word on the Street is an annual book fair that happens outside the Vancouver Public Library. Radha tabled the event through our publisher, Timeless Books, which offers eastern wisdom to the western mind. We made many new friends, including Jian Ghomeshi!

Radha recently participated in the Carnegie Centre’s DTES Health Fair. The purpose of the Fair was to offer resources to residents of the Downtown Eastside that are interested in improving their health and their lives. Radha yoga instructors led participants through hatha postures, breathing exercises and meditation.

Last week Radha opened its doors to all for our day-long open house. Our guests stretched their minds and bodies in our hatha, dream and kundalini classes, learned culinary skills during a cooking demo, and enjoyed a delicious lunch and steaming mugs of chai – all free of charge!

Being a non-profit yoga centre and restaurant, it is one of our priorities to offer services and events such as this at an affordable cost (or free!) to the community. We believe that people from all walks of life and economic situations should be able to access paths to healthier living. We always graciously accept donations, which allow us to continue to provide service to all.

Please enjoy this video that presents a little bit of everything that our Radha centre is about: yoga, community, spirituality, local food, green technology, karma yoga and more! And don’t miss our Chi & Chai Open House this Sunday, which will include an array of yoga classes, a cooking demo, a lunch and more – all free!
Radha Yoga & Eatery was featured in Lightwaves, the Yasodhara Ashram’s blog! Read all about Radha and how we connect food, yoga and sustainability.
Recently we had a beautiful Bhajan Night at Radha. We all joined our voices and instruments together in devotion to the Divine. If you missed it, there will be another in September!
Last weekend Radha participated in the Camp Moomba Yogathon & Blissfest to help raise awareness and funds for children impacted by HIV/AIDS. The much needed funds raised from this event help send a child to summer camp for an experience of a lifetime.
We served nutritious, organic food and drink to lots of hungry and thirsty yogis!

The sun is shining and the Radha rooftop garden is flourishing. During a hatha class, as you lie on the floor in a yoga posture, you may want to consider that just a few meters above you grows our sedum groundcover. It is now blooming lovely yellow flowers and smells heavenly – just ask one of the many bees that visit every day!
The latest addition to our green roof is a small collection of herbs and veggies that we acquired from Nathan Creek Organic Farm (we have a CSA membership with them) which we will harvest later for use in our eatery dishes.
It’s so nice to know that just above the hustle and bustle of Main Street there exists this beautiful sanctuary of quiet greenery and insect life. Green roof viewings are possible by appointment. 604.605.0011

The long, hot (sometimes!) days of summer are here and so is our delectable new summer menu. We are also now offering an organic sangria that is a perfect accompaniment to our summer dishes!

German chocolate "black forest" cake with BC cherries, maple coconut cream icing and cherry compote.
The staff at Radha always celebrates the arrival of the new menu with a tasting party. This allows everyone from servers to dishwashers to yoga instructors to give feedback about the new menu items to the chefs. Come in for dinner this summer and let us know what you think! Bon appétit!
